HiHello is one of the most generous digital business card apps for individuals. Its free plan does a lot, and its prices are published clearly. That deserves credit.
The trade-off comes when you pay. Professional renews every year. Business renews every year for every person. Over time, and across a team, that adds up. This guide looks at that cost and how a one-time card compares.

Who should consider switching
You may want an alternative if:
- you need more than the free plan, but not a full team platform;
- you are buying for a small team and the per-user fee adds up;
- you want to know the full cost on day one; or
- you would rather pay once than renew.

What HiHello does well
- A strong free plan. HiHello Personal is free with no time limit. It includes 2 cards, sharing by QR, widget, email, SMS and WhatsApp, Apple and Google Wallet, an email signature, virtual backgrounds and 5 paper card or badge scans a month.
- Clear published prices. Every plan price is on its pricing page.
- Branding on Professional. Your colours, fonts and branded video, branded QR codes and a personalised card link.
- Analytics and lead capture. Professional adds card analytics for views, saves and leads, and 20 card or badge scans a month with contact enrichment.
- Team tools on Business. Card and signature templates, email signatures deployed to Gmail and Outlook, Salesforce, HubSpot and Microsoft Dynamics, SSO with directory sync, and an admin dashboard.
- No app for the other person. HiHello says no app is needed to receive a card.
Where HiHello costs more
- Paid plans renew every year. Professional is $6 a month billed yearly ($72 a year), or $8 billed monthly.
- Business is per user. It costs $5 per user per month billed yearly ($60 per user a year), or $6 billed monthly.
- There is a five-user minimum. A team of three still pays for five seats on Business.
- Analytics and branding are paid. Card analytics and your own colours and fonts start on Professional.
HiHello says its per-user price drops at 26 and 51 users. Those discounts do not help a small team.

Why per-user pricing adds up
A per-user subscription charges for every person, every year. The total grows in two directions at once: with each person you add, and with each year you keep it.
A small team feels this most. Minimum seat counts mean you may pay for people you do not have. And the bill arrives again next year, whether or not anyone changed their card.
Paying once per profile turns that into a single, known cost. You still pay for each person, but only once.
There is a fair point on HiHello's side too. Per-user plans include central admin, SSO and signature management. If you need those, part of the yearly fee buys real work you would otherwise do by hand.
A worked example
Take a small accounting firm with three partners. They have outgrown HiHello's free plan and want analytics and their own branding.
On HiHello Business, the five-user minimum means they pay for five seats: $300 a year, or $900 over three years. On HiHello Professional, three separate accounts cost $216 each over three years, or $648 in total. Here, three Brand Presence profiles cost $72 each, once, with analytics and templates included.
If the firm needed central signature management or SSO, HiHello Business would be worth the cost. If not, paying once is simpler.
What you keep and what you lose
You keep a live profile at a permanent link, a QR code, a save-contact button, analytics and unlimited edits.
You lose HiHello's free tier, extra cards per person, wallet passes, centrally deployed email signatures, SSO and its direct CRM integrations.
What we could not verify
HiHello's pricing page did not say whether edits are limited on any plan, so we have not claimed either way.
Switch if…
- you have outgrown the free plan;
- you are a team of two to ten and the five-seat minimum does not fit;
- you want analytics without a yearly fee;
- you do not need email signatures deployed centrally; or
